A translation of inner states into sound: raw, honest, melodic, heavy.

WEEPING KIN is the one-man project of German musician Tom Ott, dedicated to deeply melancholic, melodic doom metal. The music combines melodic twin guitars with slow, crushing rhythms and emotionally charged vocals that move between fragile intimacy and dark grandeur. Long song structures, shifting tempos and unusual time signatures add a progressive edge. 

Founded in 2021, WEEPING KIN released several recordings exploring different facets of its sound. After the debut album "Gnawing" in 2022, the project expanded its scope with the concept-driven "Waterbound" and continued to evolve through later releases. 

In 2025, the EP "Epoch of Mourning" presented a more direct approach, accompanied by an atmospheric music video for "A Place in My Dreams". Released in the same year, "Lost Magic" pushed the project toward a far more ambitious and experimental direction.
